Residents In A Fall Mood

November 7, 2020

To fit with the change of seasons, on this day the residents were in a fall mood. They chose to decorate the doors to their rooms by cutting out leaves and creating colorful wreaths. This brought about good conversation, laughter and smiles..and another idea. One of our residents was looking for a project to do the next morning. He asked if he could recycle a shipping box. Certainly! He and the staff came up with the idea for a family tree for our feature wall. They turned the box into a tree trunk and branches, then taped it to the wall. They cut out leaves for the tree, then put resident and staff names on them. Then they taped them to the branches. Voila, the family tree. Beneath the tree, they added as fallen leaves the left over leaves the residents cut out for wreaths. And our thoughtful resident suggested putting their animals names on those fallen leaves because they are family, too.
