Bonus Of Living In The Rockies

September 12, 2020

Giving our residents a bit of a break from the 'staying in home' routine, we took our scenic drive to Westcliff, Colorado. Our travels took us to a spot where we could see the freshly snow covered mountains. Stunning. We stopped at the city park where we were very cautious and aware of our surroundings. We had a wonderful brown bag lunch including chicken salad on croissant, home made chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies. Chips and fruit was also included. After lunch, we headed to Lake Deweese where the views were simply amazing. Residents really enjoyed the view of the lake and the mountains. Activities Director Merry took the group to the stream on the other side of the damn. Very majestic. She explained to them, this lake sources the ditch water for Canon City. After the oohs and aahs, they headed back home through the canyon enjoying the Arkansas river all the way home.
