We encourage our residents to exercise by making the process fun. Music certainly helps. Crank up Harry Belafonte singing Day-O, and the group starts shimmying and forms a line dance. We do chair yoga to disco music like Staying Alive by the Bee Gees. We also do some two stepping chair exercises. A little bit of Twist & Shout is always lots of fun, too. The residents automatically move and laugh while doing so. They really get into it, and so does the staff.
